When I first created this site, I intended to write a post about Super Proxy, I never got round to it! Super Proxy was (is) the first affiliate site i created. It is not really an affiliate site, but it does make use of online marketing, banner adverts and text link ads to generate income.
Super Proxy is a web proxy server, it allows those people who are behind firewalls to access blocked websites, this mainly relates to people behind government firewalls such as the great firewall of china (or not so great if you are behind it!). Without going into the technical details the request for a blocked site is piggy backed via the proxy server to the client.
The reason i am posting about Super proxy now is because I have been looking into Alexa ranking, it seems that Super Proxy is doing quite well, so something must be going right with all the marketing I have put into the site.
What I know is that the site gets on average 2000 unique visitors per day, this figure has been steadily rising over time. After looking at Alexa it is clear that the page rank has also been steadily climbing.
Three months ago Super Proxy Alexa Traffic rank was over 600,000, it is now down to 230,000, still a high rank but with more work I hope it can be brought down to under the 100k mark and then who knows from there, hopefully continue to fall.
