I have recently been struggling for hard drive space, I bought myself a Western Digital My Book World Edition II 1Tb NAS Drive, I figured that firstly 1Tb should be enough to put my music collection, digital pictures and all my working files for affiliate websites, but also the Network Attached Storage would allow me to access all those files easily via the desktop, apple mac or laptop without any of the other computers having to be switched on.
When it arrived it was easier than expected to setup and is now sat whirring away on my desk. It was then that I realised that this was an idea product for me to market for an affiliate. I now have first hand knowledge of it, I can write a decent first hand review and even answer any questions people have about it. So being one never to miss an opportunity I created a single page site, or a Landing page if your like about the NAS drive.
Have a look at http://www.quillenterprises.com/mybookworldedition/
Basically I started by gathering some information from Western Digital and some other sources, reading some other peoples reviews to see what others thought. Then gathering all this together to write both a review and detail the specification and functionality of the product, hopefully ending up with something that is useful to someone searching about the product.
I then took an open source design from http://www.oswd.org/ and created the quick and simple site, adding in keywords and meta information.
As a final step before I launched I read through the copy with a view to adding in more keywords to the text without making it too keyword heavy. Then uploaded it to a folder on a domain I already owned.
I decided to use this method rather than buying a domain to see how the marketing of the product went as I have a view in the future to use this domain for a computer products review site.
I am marketing the landing page with Google Adwords, submitting it to search engines, and for the first time I am trialing creating classified ads for the product that have the address of the landing page in them. I will be monitoring the keywords and modifying my strategy to suit.
I suspect that it will start slowly, but I hope that it will build up over time, being a fairly high value item a small number of sales would generate a nice level of income.
We shall see how it goes!
