I am still having problems with AuctionAds, many thousands of impressions and very few clicks. I have done some research on the net to see how others are getting on with it and it does seem that you have to choose where you use AuctionAds carefully.
Tim Schroeder from Emonetized.com posted “AuctionAds Affiliate Performance Update” in which he details the successes he has has along with some very interesting figures. These show that he is making less than half a penny per click. Reading Tims blog entry he seems to have come to the same conclusion as me, it is very dependant on the site you are running, a site about a specific product or interest would be successful whereas one that is more general in its content or usage would not work so well.
On the other hand I have been reading an article on Searchenginejournal.com about the SEO & Blogging Success Story : Diabetes Blog Earns $40K per Year which talks about a rather clever chap called Ken Savage who is earning great money from his Diabetes blog. A significant proportion, 40% of his earnings come from AuctionAds.
This pretty much confirms my feelings about AuctionAds being great for sites with a targeted subject or product, but less good for general sites.
I think I will remove AuctionAds from Super Proxy and try them out on another site. I will of course report back as to their success or otherwise.
