I have decided to shake things up a little on Super Proxy, I have been hearing good things about AuctionAds so I have decided to implement them on the front page of Super Proxy to see how they perform.
AuctionAds are very new in the market place, only a few months old, however they have already proven a big hit with many. They seem confident that you will increase your revenue over Google AdSense that they issued a 10 day challenge during the last 10 days of May 2007, traditionally revenue tails off towards the end of the month for some reason.
AuctionAds simply links in with the EBay affiliate program giving you commission on winning bids, buy-it-now or user registrations. It is not contextual as you enter a keyword for the adverts to run on and therefore you can run it in conjunction with Google AdSense or other contextual services.
I signed up for AuctionAds who unlike some affiliate programs do not ask every question under the sun including your pets name, the sign up process was simple and concise and sign-ups are automatically approved.
The advantage here is that you can run many campaigns on different sites from the same account, thus monitoring is much easier.
I setup a campaign for Super Proxy and then created an advert. When creating the advert you provide it with a keyword for which to show eBay auctions, unfortunately due to the nature of the Super Proxy site choosing a key word is fairly difficult, but I plumped for three different keywords as you are allowed under their terms to have multiple units. I went for three 728×90 Leader board style.
Adding the code to the site is easy, the AuctionAds site creates the code for you and as I have an includes file for the adverts section of the front page so it was a simple case of copy and paste.
Now it is a matter of monitoring and seeing how it progresses. I will give it a couple of weeks to be fair and see what sorts of revenue are generated.
