Ask yourself, why would someone want to come to my site? They are not visiting to see nice pretty graphics, lists of reviews, and content that is easily found elsewhere, they are generally looking for something specific, a service, product or information.
In order to make your site a success, ensure that you are providing good original content. If you are planning on using a blog as your source of affiliate income, select something that you are interested in, something you know a great deal about, the general rule of thumb is you should be able to sit down and write at least 10 original articles for your site before you start, if you cant then you need to choose a different topic.
If you are using an affiliate’s product database and creating an affiliate store, take the time to look at the products in the database, the quality of the images, text and descriptions.
Keep to a niche, don’t blur the boundaries of your site by making it everything to everyone, you will simply not be able to provide the quality of information and content that people are looking for. Focus on one area, an area you are interested and knowledgeable about. Once your site becomes successful you can extend it to cover a wide market.
